Baxter Freight continues to grow through developing its technology and relaunching its vision and values
Investment in people pays off as we post record sales figures.
Over the last two years the impact of the logistics sector on the economy has become more recognised; during the pandemic and at the start of life after Brexit, we have been at the forefront of keeping businesses trading and maintaining their supply chains.
Where 2021 was a year of responding to these challenges, 2022 was a year of investment as we continue to build on our position and to face the future with confidence.
Our turnover for 2022 exceeded £37m, a rise of £6m on the prior year, with the number of consignments rising by 29%. Average staff numbers rose from 84 to 113, with a profit after tax of £0.7m.
“These results reflect our innovation, our investment in digital transformation and our customer service which we believe is the best in the industry. The strength of our team has driven new solutions to help our customers navigate the complexities of a post-Brexit world and ready ourselves for the next round of challenges that the 21st Century will undoubtedly bring.”

Relaunching our mission, vision & values

Creativity and strong collaboration are core values here at Baxter Freight. We have continued to partner with DHL Freight and Gerlach Customs, and are working with leading business academics at Nottingham Trent University to help shape our marketing strategy and also our mission, vision and values.
Our mission
We are the solutions architects for even the most complex logistics requirements building sustainable, collaborative relationships where everyone wins.
The creation of a new level of senior management, with associate directors promoted from across the business, will help support the further growth of the company. Developing the people that have helped us to get to this fortunate position is a key part of our culture and we will be focusing on creating many more roles and recruiting to help sustain further growth plans, with staff numbers hoping to reach 170 by the end of the year.
The continued growth is already enabling us to expand our presence in important markets such as the Middle East and the Americas, joining valuable international transport networks such as Conqueror and Pangea.
All of this is underpinned by our brand-new CRM platform and new website launched in March 2023. We are keen to keep driving innovation and to become an employer of choice in the East Midlands.
