A global approach to logistics
Whether it’s clothing to Australia, playgrounds to America, or imports from China and the Far East, we handle a wide range of cargo and all the complexities that goes with it.
This is all made possible because of our highly skilled team AND the partnerships we have with carriers and agents across the globe. We collaborate, share local knowledge and together find the right solution for our customers.
These partnerships have taken years to develop and we continue to grow our network to ensure we can always overcome supply chain complexities for our customers.
Efficient service with tight deadlines
Our partnerships matter, and when one of our customers needs us to help them out at short notice we are here to help.
So when a leading supplier in the aviation industry was experiencing delays with another forwarder, we stepped up to organise a solution to move helicopter blades door-to-door EXW from London to Tokyo Narita.
From compliance checks, due to the unique nature of the commodity, the time-sensitive nature of the request and the oversized dimensions of the helicopter blades presented limitations in finding a suitable carrier equipped to handle such cargo.
Most airlines lacked the necessary equipment for the 881cm length but our Aviate team works hard to build relationships with the carriers and agents in our network, so finding the right solution with a carrier who can work with us at short notice is always possible.
Being proactive, handling the customs in-house and being transparent in our communication, with our carrier and our customer, we exceeded the delivery timescales by arriving ahead of schedule in Japan.
Project logistics in action
The transportation of out-of-gauge project cargo is regular work for our team. From large pre-cast concrete foundations to 12m cabling reels for industrial machinery, we are taking on specialist projects that are moved from the UK to the US, the UAE and everywhere in between and even the imports back to UK.
This type of cargo requires careful planning, handling, and partners who can uphold the service requirements we create for our solutions to our customers.
We take on projects knowing who in our network has the experience, equipment and the values to deliver the Baxter Freight promise to customers. Together with our partners we plan the solution, define the roles and responsibilities, and terms of shipment, to enable all parties involved in projects like this, to carry out their part, seamlessly and effectively. Communication is key and a nominated project leader at Baxter Freight will be on hand for regular updates and problem-solving.
Our collaborative approach streamlines the process, simplifying the journey from point A to point B. While our operations may involve complexities, our commitment to customer satisfaction ensures that working with us remains straightforward and hassle-free.
Navigating Playdale's Orbit to the US
Our specialist U.S. service enables us to support our customers to seize opportunities in America, enabling them to leave all the customs, routing, and partner sourcing to us. We work closely with American agents and carriers to create the right solutions.
This is the case for Playdale, a British manufacturer of outdoor playground equipment who have major success with their flagship product, the Inclusive roundabout – the Orbit, which has become a staple in the American market.
Our dedicated US shipping specialist, Brendan Pickering, and the collective knowledge of our Navigate Team, we ensure meticulous handling of Playdale’s shipments from start to finish. This includes steering through the complexities of customs regulations and procedures, ensuring seamless clearance for each consignment.
Leveraging the renowned quality of British steel and outdoor play products, we tailor our approach to meet the unique demands of the American market, providing Playdale with a competitive edge and peace of mind throughout the shipping process.
Adding value to our suppliers and their customers
Our role as a logistics solutions provider and freight forwarder specialist is to leverage the potential of experienced agents, carriers, hauliers and airlines across the world, connecting them with the customers we are building solutions for.
We rely on the right partnerships with the right suppliers to ensure we can offer excellent customer service and a great experience working with Baxter Freight. But this ethos extends to our suppliers in our network too.
Logistics is highly competitive, but when partnerships are founded on trust, where we are transparent, open and supportive to our suppliers, agents, carriers and hauliers, we are able to create more opportunities and scope for all parties to thrive.
Every day our extensive team of Account Managers are building relationships and finding new opportunities for our suppliers to work on. Our in-house customs team supports customers, suppliers, and even the consignees through complex customs documentation to ensure all shipments go without a hitch. Our operations team is always on hand to talk through complex projects, focused on taking the complexity out of logistics.
