We’re delighted to announce that Baxter Freight has been recognised by The Sunday Times as one of the best places to work in the UK, in the medium organisation category.
Managed by The Sunday Times, in partnership with leading employee experience platform WorkL, we’re extremely proud to be recognised amongst the UK’s top employers. The award is a testament to our people-orientated culture and reflects the real experience of our team, who contributed to our overall application, which was conducted via an in-depth survey.
About The Sunday Times Best Places to Work Award
To become a Sunday Times Best Place to Work, employees are asked to complete a comprehensive survey that assesses employee engagement, workplace culture, and the overall employee experience.
Companies are evaluated across six key areas, including;
- Reward and recognition
- Instilling pride
- Information sharing
- Empowerment
- Wellbeing
- Job satisfaction
Only organisations that demonstrate a high level of engagement are recognised, which we are especially proud of, as it is shaped entirely by our team and aligns with our overall mission.
Zoe Thomas, Editor of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work, said:
“In an evolving world of work Britain’s leading employers are helping staff forge careers that count today – and in the future. In turn, the Best Places to Work have the resilience to weather the current economic storms baked in, thanks to engaged workers who go above and beyond with a smile. Our winning employers span sizes and sectors – from tiny charities and specialist law firms, to multinational fast-food chains and utility giants, and everywhere in between. The thread joining them is the belief that a happy workforce is a stepping stone to better performance, faster growth, and bigger profits. More than that, there’s a collective instinct that a contented rank-and-file is a worthwhile business goal in and of itself.”
A workplace built together
The Baxter Freight culture is shaped by our people, how we make decisions and the standards we continue to hold ourselves to.
As a purpose-driven and B Corp™ Certified business, we think carefully about our impact. That includes the experience our people have at work.
We keep our communication transparent and open, and for everyone to have a voice. Through quarterly surveys, ongoing conversations across teams and business updates from Ian Baxter (our Chairman), we regularly share insights into the performance of our business and the direction we are heading.
We focus on helping people grow and build long-term careers through internal progression. By providing structured onboarding and development opportunities, we promote from within wherever possible.
On top of this, we provide practical ways to help with wellbeing, including access to mental health support, a dedicated wellness room and ongoing improvements to our working environment.
At Baxter Freight, we hire for skills, values, attributes, experience, required qualifications and potential, not background. We focus on providing an inclusive environment where people feel they belong.
We support our people to make an impact outside of work too, whether that’s time off to give blood, monthly local litter picking or paid volunteering days with our charity partner at Hope Nottingham.
Being named one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026 reflects all of these commitments and more and is based on how our people experience Baxter Freight every day.
Recognising every member of our team

Looking Ahead
Alongside this fantastic recognition, we’re committed to our mission to be a business that is ethical, people-orientated and planet-focused.
We’re passionate about making sure Baxter Freight remains a place where people feel valued, supported and able to do their best work.
