Supporting our local community
At Baxter Freight, supporting the communities we serve has always been part of who we are. That’s why we’re proud to announce our new charity partnership with Hope Nottingham, a local organisation doing vital work to support individuals and families across the region.
This partnership reflects our core values – Better Together, We Own It, We Are Authentic and We Are Creative – and our commitment to making a real, lasting difference locally.
By working closely with Hope Nottingham, we are coming together to take ownership of our impact, support our community in an authentic way and contribute collectively through hands‑on involvement.
About Hope Nottingham
Hope Nottingham’s mission is to inspire and grow communities of hope through Nottingham where poverty of resources and relationships are met by local people volunteering. The charity supports thousands of people every year. With its main hubs in Beeston and Carlton, they currently operate 13 food banks across the city, providing holistic and life-changing support to individuals and families in need, including easy access to in-person welfare, benefits and debt advice.
In addition to its food banks, Hope Nottingham runs free drop-in cafes, low-cost food clubs, skills building activities including job clubs, ESOL, literacy and digital inclusion projects. Friendship and art groups, alongside community meals help reduce social isolation. They also run an allotment, where fresh produce is grown to support local communities. Most importantly the charity provides and supports over 300 individuals to volunteer in safe and meaningful roles, helping their own wellbeing, building confidence and sharing skills to help others.
Volunteering in Action
As part of this partnership, our team volunteers up to 30 hours every month, supporting Hope Nottingham in a wide range of activities. From packing, picking and organising food donations within the food bank to getting stuck in on the allotments, our volunteers will be contributing directly to work that makes a real difference.
By the end of this year, our aim is to complete a minimum of 350 volunteering hours, demonstrating our shared commitment to rolling up our sleeves and making a positive impact in our local community.
