SEA FREIGHT
CO-ORDINATOR

Join our fast-paced Sea Freight team as we grow this summer. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, relationship-led individual who’s ready to get stuck in.

 

About the role

Reporting to our Sea Freight Manager, this role involves organising and arranging both export and import sea freight shipments. You’ll use excellent communication skills to exemplify our customer service focus, with direct liaison between suppliers, partners and our internal sales team. You’ll ensure all necessary information is communicated across teams to ensure the operation runs smoothly and you achieve tight deadlines.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Sea Freight operation from receipt of customer bookings and arranging collections to booking cargo with carriers
  • Request and gather quotations from suppliers and overseas partners in a timely and efficient manner, effectively negotiating rates
  • Manage all aspects of live import and export shipments with efficiency
  • Manage shipments covered by letters of credit and issue certificates of origin when required
  • Manage export customs entries via an agent, utilising in-house software
  • Prepare import customs documentation, keeping track of entries and arranging deliveries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain excellent communication and control throughout all phases of the operations process, ensuring all necessary information is communicated to deadlines
  • Build and develop relationships with suppliers and partners to engender loyalty, continuing quality and service

 

Is this role for you?

  • Experience working in a similar role in the industry, including knowledge of various clearance types
  • Independent worker, able to manage and prioritise a busy schedule
  • Organised, with excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work under pressure, using your own initiative and work well in a team
  • Great telephone manner with confidence to speak to customers at a senior level
