Baxter Freight has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to preventing modern slavery in our own business and throughout our supply chain.

Our approach is informed by internationally recognised human rights and fair labour standards. We expect the same high standards from the suppliers and partners we work with.

Baxter Freight is a UK based logistics services provider operating across the UK, EU and international markets, covering road, air, sea and rail freight, warehousing and customs. We deliver services through third party suppliers and partner networks and therefore our modern slavery risk sits primarily within our supply chain.

Our people

All employees have guaranteed contracted hours and we do not use zero hours contracts. We hold a National Minimum Wage certificate and maintain evidence of pay compliance. Part time and fixed term employees receive pro rata contractual entitlements, and contracted service providers are paid in line with the Living Wage Foundation recommended rates.

Employees can provide feedback through Connect meetings and quarterly surveys.

All employees complete modern slavery awareness training as part of onboarding, with refresher training delivered annually. HR monitors completion.

Speaking up

Speak Up routes are available to employees, suppliers and third parties through management, HR and our independent whistleblowing provider, Health Assured. Reports can be made confidentially and anonymously.

Concerns can be raised via the Health Assured confidential whistleblowing line on 0800 206 2552. All reports are managed by HR with oversight from the Board of Directors.

Our supply chain

Operations is responsible for supplier onboarding and ongoing supplier management.

We set clear ethical standards for suppliers and record confirmation of compliance through our systems. Supplier confirmation of compliance with our ethical standards is considered as part of supplier approval and ongoing supplier selection and forms one of a number of factors in the overall assessment.

We complete an annual supplier survey to assess labour standards and working conditions. The survey includes questions on pay, number of workers and use of temporary labour, statutory holiday and leave entitlement, whistleblowing arrangements, age verification processes, and legal compliance.

Where concerns are identified, they are escalated to HR for investigation and corrective action. Relationships may be suspended or terminated where issues are not addressed.

Actions taken in 2025

We requested labour standards information from suppliers.
We issued Baxter Freight ethical policies and recorded supplier confirmation of compliance.
We reviewed supplier responses, escalated concerns to HR and agreed corrective actions where required.

Actions being implemented in 2026

We are issuing our Modern Slavery Policy to suppliers.
We are embedding modern slavery checks into supplier onboarding and ongoing supplier review.
We are introducing mandatory training for all employees with annual refresher training.

Monitoring effectiveness

We monitor the effectiveness of our approach by tracking:

  • the proportion of active suppliers that have confirmed compliance with our ethical standards
  • completion of the annual supplier survey and any issues identified through the survey and the actions taken to resolve them
  • concerns raised and the actions taken to resolve them
  • employee training completion

This statement is made in accordance with section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Baxter Freight’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2025.

Approved by the Board of Directors on 17 February 2026.

Signed.
