When Brexit started to have its impact on movement of goods in and out of the European Union, many retailers started to have to change their strategy, some withdrawing from trading in the EU altogether. While this was happening the Customs and Operations teams at Baxter Freight were rapidly learning how to navigate this new world to find solutions that would help customers stand out from the crowd.

Thanks to our round the clock customs team and partnership with Gerlach we have created a solution where goods can be delivered from the UK to consumers in Germany (and throughout Europe) within 24 hours.

Working to a strict 16 hour timeframe goods are injected into a parcel hub in Germany to go out for delivery that day.

The delivery promise to the end customer is achieved because we go the extra mile and add value by:

• Close Key Account management with daily reporting on KPI’s.
• Moving goods in highly secure box trailers – moving on average 5 trailers a day.
• Managing all goods through customs: with an average of 470 commodity headings per trailer.
• Sophisticated IT solutions to manage customs, reporting and day to day management.
