As a trusted provider of innovative waste disposal and recycling equipment, Bergmann Direct has contracted Baxter Freight to transport approximately 500 tonnes of cargo to date – leveraging our expertise across four internal product divisions: UK Road, EU Road, Sea Freight, and Air Freight.
Shipments are often time-sensitive due to needing to meet engineers on-site for installation and this multi-modal approach has allowed for the flexibility and responsiveness needed in selecting the most efficient and cost-effective transport solutions possible.
Tackling Complex Cargo with Care
Having supplied more than 40 local authorities and being a major supplier of food waste disposal solutions for NHS trusts across the UK (alongside many other big-name organisations), Bergmann Direct were aware they needed a logistics partner that could meet the logistical challenge of providing seamless transport for out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo with minimal delays.
Shipments can vary significantly, including time-critical air freight from international origins, large OOG container movements, and cross-continental European road transport. Each consignment requires careful coordination and detailed planning around lift specifications, load securing and strapping, and route optimisation as well as proactive mitigation of potential delays (such as infrastructure restrictions or transit bottlenecks) – a critical component of ensuring delivery efficiency and reliability.
