We’re delighted to announce that Baxter Freight has achieved Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) certification, demonstrating our commitment to protect our systems, and to maintain robust standards of cyber security hygiene across our operations.
Cyber Essentials is a government-backed, industry-supported scheme which was launched to help businesses of all sizes protect their data and safeguard against the most common cyber security threats.
We initially became Cyber Essentials certified last year, which involved a thorough review of our systems via an assessment against five key technical controls:
- Firewalls and internet gateways
- Secure configuration
- Access control
- Malware protection
- Patch management
Cyber Essentials Plus takes things a step further. Rather than simply completing a self-assessment, CE+ requires an independent external audit and technical testing of our cyber security controls to verify that they are working effectively in practice.
This is a fantastic achievement for the business and provides additional assurance to our customers, suppliers, and partners that we take cyber security seriously. As organisations become increasingly focused on security when deciding who they work with, CE+ reinforces our position as a trusted and secure business partner.
This accreditation adds further depth to our status as an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) which requires us to achieve compliance with the highest standards of data protection and supply chain security.
Cyber security is a journey of continuous improvement, and Cyber Essentials Plus is another important milestone along the way. Over the coming months and years, we’ll continue to strengthen our cyber security posture through investment in technology, process improvements and greater awareness across the business.
