The East Midlands Chamber Business Awards are a fantastic opportunity for sponsors, finalists and members of the Chamber to come together and celebrate the amazing work that organisations in Nottinghamshire undertake every day.
We were thrilled to attend the awards alongside so many other fantastic businesses from across the region, and we are overjoyed to have won Green Business of the Year.
At Baxter Freight, our environmental activity centres around empowering customers to reduce supply chain emissions through our Sustainable Freight Network. Our consultancy-led service helps businesses take data-driven steps to reduce their supply chain emissions, improving efficiency and aligning with the UK Government Net Zero Strategy to neutralise emissions by 2050.

As our Associate Director of Accelerate UK, Jamie Reid, said when accepting the award, “Small changes really can make a huge difference. Whatever we can all do to make the planet a better place to be, and to be more sustainable, we should all be doing it.”
Being shortlisted for this award required a thorough written application, as well as a presentation before a panel of judges including senior Chamber representatives and board members, plus the category sponsor, Blueprint Interiors.
The award itself recognises our commitment to making a positive impact on the environment through greener ways of working. From the changes we’ve made in our office to the ways we support our customers, sustainability is embedded into every aspect of our business.
Runner-up for SME of the Year
We’re also thrilled to have been a finalist for SME of the Year at the edie Awards – widely known as the Oscars of the sustainability world. Though we didn’t bring home the trophy, we remain immensely proud to have been shortlisted by such a respected sustainability-focused organisation alongside such fantastic competition.
