Navigate Specialist

The impact you will have
You will manage sea freight quotes and operations end-to-end, making sure every consignment is planned properly, priced accurately and delivered in line with service expectations. You will keep information moving between customers, suppliers and internal teams so actions are taken quickly and issues are resolved early.
You will maintain accurate systems and documentation to help with compliance and smooth customs clearance, helping deliver a reliable customer experience. You will also contribute to the growth of the Navigate product by suggesting ideas that improve ways of working, reduce errors, and strengthen customer outcomes.
A typical day
- Manage sea freight quotes and bookings from request through to delivery, selecting the right service and routing for each consignment.
- Request and gather supplier quotations from shipping lines, co-loaders, NVOCCs and overseas agents, checking margins and costings so quotes are accurate and commercially viable.
- Arrange collections and book cargo with suppliers and agents, keeping key milestones on track.
- Track consignments through key milestones from collection through to final delivery, keeping customers and internal teams updated throughout.
- Prepare and issue export booking confirmations and import arrival notices where required.
- Prepare and check documentation for import and export clearance where required, working with the customs team to provide accurate information for entries and respond to queries.
- Manage service issues or delays by clarifying options, next steps and any risks to service, escalating where needed.
- Keep Salesforce and operational systems accurate and up to date, including quotes, bookings, costs, revenue and status updates.
- Follow company processes and customer standard operating procedures so consignments are compliant and well documented.
- Benchmark and record freight rates, surcharges and services within set parameters, highlighting risks around capacity, service, cost or sustainability.
- Help resolve supplier invoice queries promptly and record recurring issues so root causes can be addressed.
- Suggest ideas to simplify processes, improve quality, strengthen sustainability outcomes and enhance the customer experience.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with carriers and overseas agents so customer requirements are met and service is protected.
Is this role for you?
We are looking for people who:
Have experience working in a similar role within a freight forwarding environment.
Have strong numeracy and are comfortable working with rates, margins and costings.
Are organised, accurate and able to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
Can work to deadlines and take clear actions when things are busy, asking for guidance when needed.
Enjoy solving problems and can work through issues in a structured, calm way.
Communicate clearly and professionally by phone and in writing, adapting your approach for customers, suppliers and internal teams.
Take ownership of the detail, keeping systems and documents accurate so the wider team can make good decisions quickly.
