The Impact You Will Have

You’ll be immersed in a detail orientated and collaborative environment where every day you will be handling our customers shipments on both a national and European level.

As a European Groupage Specialist, you will be crucial to the business as you will be managing our European import service and assisting with the export service, working closely with our network of UK and European suppliers, including our sales partner DHL in Cologne. You will ensure suppliers receive the correct booking information and customs documentation, ensuring all shipments are delivered and collected on time. You are committed to delivering high levels of customer service, through close supplier management as per agreements to meet our customers’ requirements.

A Typical Day

  • Ensuring all trailers are scheduled to arrive on time, following our partner transit schedule, escalating delays to the relevant managers and updating them on the revised ETA’s.
  • Checking and processing documentation which ensures our UK partners, suppliers and customs brokers have the correct information.
  • Providing proactive communications and solutions for operational issues to our partners and our internal departments.
  • Updating and maintaining the daily tracker spreadsheet to monitor trailers, arrival times and delays.
  • Manage the tracking of all consignments whilst ensuring you communicate throughout all phases of the journey, you will investigate and resolve any non-delivered shipments.
  • Load daily manifests to our UK partners international trailers and to European partners to confirm collections from UK partners.

Is This Role For You?

  • You have a 2:1 degree or experience of working in a similar role or within a freight forwarding environment.
  • You will have strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • You are comfortable and confident speaking to suppliers and customers over the phone.
  • You are both self-sufficient and a team player and are able to manage and prioritise a busy work schedule.
  • You should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, in particular Outlook, Word and Excel.
